Trees of Hope Zimbabwe
Direction and co-production of video and photographic documentation for Trees of Hope CIC, a community-driven initiative aimed at protecting and restoring indigenous trees. We had a fruitful collaboration with Mhondiwa Mhepo, filmmaker and photographer.
Our ensemble model strengthens communication, empathy and leadership across public and private sector teams.
The Gospel of Othello
An ensemble canon conceived, written and facilitated by Patrice Naiambana in several countries

About us
Tribal Soul Arts is an interdisciplinary performance laboratory rooted in diaspora practices and traditions. Working alongside master artists, citizens, communities and public and private sector partners, we create participatory programmes, performances and creative gatherings shaped by rhythm, storytelling, movement, reflection and intercultural exchange.We are guided by two questions:“How are we living?” and “How do we want to live?”TSA CIC is committed to promoting culturepreneurship — using creativity within the cultural sphere to support sustainable livelihoods, alternative learning, participation and wellbeing. Led by Patrice Naiambana — Animateur and Performance Artist — the journey began in the living rooms of artists and community members in Chapeltown, Leeds in 1991, developing through informal ensembles, interdisciplinary collaborations and community-based creative practice.Alongside work in mainstream professional arenas including the RSC, Shakespeare’s Globe, the National Theatre, BBC and Netflix, Patrice continued designing creative gatherings for community, educational and wellbeing contexts.

Professor of African Studies at the University of Oxford and an internationally recognised scholar of African politics, global affairs and postcolonial thought.Her influential work explores Africa’s place within changing world orders, alongside questions of power, democracy, security and Pan-Africanism in contemporary global politics.As Patron of Tribal Soul Arts CIC, she brings a longstanding commitment to critical inquiry and international dialogue.
Kathryn Hunter
An internationally acclaimed Olivier Award-winning actor, director and theatre maker renowned for her groundbreaking work in physical and ensemble performance.Her distinguished career spans collaborations with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare’s Globe, Complicité and major international theatre companies.Her performance in The Tragedy of Macbeth earned the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Supporting Actress.As Patron of Tribal Soul Arts CIC, she brings a longstanding commitment to innovative performance practice.
